How to Convert PDF to Word
Turn a PDF into an editable Word document with extracted text and page structure.

Examples describe expected workflows unless a dated test is explicitly identified. Check the downloaded result against your own document before sharing it.
What PDF to Word conversion produces
The converter reads selectable text from each PDF page and builds a DOCX with one plain-text paragraph per page and page breaks. You can then edit and format the extracted text in Microsoft Word or Google Docs.
Image-only scans have no selectable text. OCR can add a text layer, but review recognition before converting to Word. Characters unsupported by the OCR PDF font are preserved in a separate text download and will not be available to the PDF-to-Word converter.
Conversion steps
Open PDF to Word and upload the PDF file.
Click PDF Text to DOCX. The browser extracts text page by page and generates a DOCX.
Download the DOCX and open it in your word processor to continue editing.
Layout expectations
The original paragraphs, headings, lists, tables, images, and styling are not reconstructed. Text order can differ in columns or complex layouts, so review the DOCX against the PDF before using it.
Decide between text reuse and layout reconstruction
Try selecting and copying a sentence from a representative PDF page first. If the pasted words are sensible and you want to rewrite a letter or reuse report prose, plain-text conversion is a reasonable starting point. If you need an invoice table, a brochure, or a form to retain its layout, obtain the source document instead.
For an illustrative two-page letter, expect the extracted words from each source page to form one paragraph, separated by a page break. A long paragraph may flow onto more Word pages; matching the original page count is not the acceptance criterion.
Review names, numbers, and reading order
Compare the DOCX against the PDF page by page. Check names, dates, totals, hyphenated words, and column order before editing. Rebuild headings, lists, and tables manually as needed; the converter does not infer those structures.
A [No extractable text on this page] paragraph means that page produced no text, not that its visible content was intentionally omitted. For a scan, try OCR and inspect recognition first. If the OCR tool offers a separate UTF-8 text download, use it to recover characters missing from its PDF search layer.
