📝 PDF Text to DOCX

Extract PDF text into an editable Word document.

PDF to Word extracts selectable text from each PDF page and builds a DOCX with one plain-text paragraph per page and page breaks. The result can be opened and edited in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and compatible editors. Original headings, lists, tables, and formatting are not retained.

How to use PDF Text to DOCX

    1. Upload a PDF that contains a text layer.
    2. Click PDF Text to DOCX.
    3. Wait for the DOCX file to be generated locally.
    4. Download the Word document and edit it as needed.

    Features

    • Extracts selectable text page by page
    • Creates an editable DOCX file
    • No file uploads or storage
    • Plain text with page breaks

Extracts an existing text layer only. It does not perform OCR or preserve images, tables, columns, styles, or layout. Pages without extractable text receive a placeholder.

    Illustrative workflows

These scenarios explain how to check your own output; they are not claims of a recorded browser test.

    Repurpose a report

Extract the wording of a report into DOCX for rewriting. Rebuild tables and headings yourself, and compare numbers with the source.

    Extract an article

Convert a downloaded article PDF into an editable document for citation and annotation.

Use DOCX as a text recovery starting point

This is PDF text extraction into DOCX, not a layout reconstruction service. A useful input is a selectable, single-column letter whose wording you want to revise. Each source page contributes a plain-text paragraph, with page breaks between source pages. Rebuild headings, lists, and tables in your editor.

A two-column article may produce text in an unexpected reading order. Compare paragraph transitions, numbers, and footnotes against the PDF before quoting or reusing it. A page with no extractable text receives a placeholder; an image-only scan does not become editable through this tool. Run OCR separately if needed and review its recognized text first.

Extract three labeled pages to an editable document

Download the sample input below. The reference output was generated in a local processor test on November 6, 2026.

Open the three-page input. Select PDF Text to DOCX, then download your result.

    Check the result

Open the DOCX in a word processor and find “Synthetic page 1”, “Synthetic page 2” and “Synthetic page 3”. Turn on formatting marks to inspect the two page breaks.
