Unlock an authorized copy to add page numbers or watermarks with another tool.
Use this for a document you own or have permission to modify, for example when you need to add page numbers to a report you previously protected. Enter the known opening password when required, save the unlocked result, then use that copy in the next tool. The original protected file is not overwritten.
An incorrect-password message can also indicate a file the library cannot process. Recheck the password and whether the source opens in a PDF reader. This tool does not guess passwords or recover forgotten ones. Treat the unlocked download as an unencrypted copy: anyone who receives it no longer needs the original opening password. Check any forms or signature status separately.
